Frequently Asked Questions

01

What if I'm claustrophobic?

Our pods are extremely roomy! Measuring 8’6” X 5’4” X 4’3” (think Mini Cooper size) and actually, once you start floating the space seems infinite. There is no way for you to become locked in and you can easily open and close the pod at your leisure. You can float with or without interior lighting or with the lid slightly ajar. We DO NOT recommend floating with the lid open for many reasons; the water temperature will drop too rapidly which can not only give you a chill but puts your brain on alert to start regulating your body temperature and the secret in the sauce is your brain taking a break from processing things! In addition, we must be mindful of the guests who follow having the appropriate water temperature for their experience.

02

How long does a float last?

We offer 60-minute, 90-minute and 2-hour float sessions.... want more? We will accommodate you! Even if you're an avid floater it takes your brain some time to settle into the float, somewhere between 30-40 minutes to reach that yummy Theta State (the dream like state) that produces lower frequency brain waves associated with creativity, inspiration, quick learning. We do not offer floats for less than 60 minutes.

03

What do I wear to float?

Absolutely nothing! We do suggest dressing comfortably for your arrival and departure but we try to be extremely cautious of any detergents and chemicals that enter the water so we ask that you please float nude.

04

Is my hair going to wet?

Absolutely. First, you must take a thorough shower prior to floating and that includes thoroughly washing your hair prior to entering the float pod. You are floating on the surface of water so yes, your hair is going to get wet.

05

Can I wear a swim cap?

No. They do not keep the water out or in. Also, your head produces more heat than the rest of your body, you do not want that heat trapped and producing more heat while floating. Please, do NOT wear any type of hair covering in our pods, they can get sucked up in the filtration system and damage the motors

06

Can I float if I'm pregnant?

There are numerous benefits to floating while pregnant once you move past your first trimester and is a unique pre-birth bonding experience for Mom & Baby! Do consult with your physician if you have concerns regarding floating during your pregnancy. Please do not float for 6 weeks post delivery.

07

Will the salt water dry my hair or skin?

No, you will immediately notice when entering the pod that the water/salt solution feels extremely soft and silky, as will your skin and hair post float! All this and aesthetic benefits too? Yes!

08

Can I float when menstruating?

Absolutely. Please follow the same procedures you would for swimming, we have tampons available for your convenience. Please do not float without a tampon.

09

Will I drown if I fall asleep?

No. And you don't even need to know how to swim to float here!! The water depth is only about 11 inches and with the high concentration of Epsom salt makes the water twice as buoyant as The Dead Sea and will fully support your body even if you fall asleep and toss and turn. Relax. The water has you!

10

Can I float with my significant other or child?

No. One person, per room, per pod. We have 3 float rooms available and with appropriate planning and scheduling you can both float at the same time in different rooms.
